Scholarships
How to apply for scholarships
- Apply to TWU through the Apply Texas application. Wait approximately 3 days for your application to be downloaded and TWU to assign an ID#.
- Create your Pioneer Portal Account.
- Go to the TWU Pioneer Scholarship System and apply for scholarships.
- Complete General Application and Recommended Opportunities. After submitting the general application, Click on Other Recommended Opportunities at the left of the screen to see the options that are available for you. Click Apply next to the scholarships for which you are applying and be sure to note the deadline.
You do not need to be accepted or admitted to a program to be eligible to apply for scholarships. However, scholarships will not be awarded until you are accepted. Be sure to get all of your required documents such as transcripts and test scores submitted as soon as possible. This is information that will help narrow your scholarship options and help you be "auto-matched" for possible New Student Scholarships.
You may also use financial aid and scholarships for education abroad.
If you have any questions, please email scholarships@catalog.tee-guide.com.
Scholarship hints
The following is a list of helpful hints useful for students when applying for scholarships.
- Meet deadlines. Do not wait until the last minute or deadline date to complete the application(s). Some organizations require official transcripts and/or letters of reference. Allow time to assemble all required information.
- Read through the scholarship information and application before writing on the application form.
- Follow directions explicitly.
- Only submit requested information. Additional information may result in your application not being favorably considered. Do not submit letters of recommendation, photos, resumes, or transcripts unless they are requested.
- Maintain a record of your applications and the dates submitted. Keep a copy of the application and all other information submitted to the organization.
- If you are asked to write an essay, use accurate grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Have someone proofread your work.
- Send thank you notes to scholarship donors.
- Reapply each year, if required.
